Create a show jumping course

Show jumping courses differ from cross country courses in that they have a different icon in the course library and fences have a type and icon on the map (e.g. vertical, oxer). Show jumps can be browsed or viewed in the gallery the same as cross coutnry jumps

Step by Step

  1. Create a cross country course by recording in CrossCountry app, duplicating an existing course or using the draw tool
  2. Upload the course to the Toolkit if recording with CrossCountry app
  3. Open the Toolkit on your desktop, tablet or smartphone. As a beginner you will find desktop or laptop easier. On smartphone, rotate your screen to landscape
  4. Select the event and open the course you wish to make into a show jumping course
  5. In the Basic Tab change the Sport to Show jumping. You will see an alert that some data may be lost. This is because the data stored for cross country and show jumping courses is different
  6. Tap the Edit icon
  7. Click on each jump to set the fence type
  8. You can also enter fence measurements to display in the app or keep private
  9. After the first edit press Save to make sure you are authorised to make edits. (You may have been added as a collaborator with view only access)
  10. Continue editing. You can use the tools on the right to manipulate the track and jumps. However if you move jumps you may find their rotation is changed. In this case delete the jump and add it in again.
  11. If you are making a lot of changes it is a good idea to save your work regularly
  12. Tap Arrow icons to Undo/Redo last command
  13. Use the vertical slider to smooth the track display in the online viewer and CrossCountry app
  14. smooth the track
  15. Save to finish
