Create a driving course
Marathon carriage driving courses differ from cross country courses in that they have obstacles, compulsory turning flags and KM markers. They have a different icon in the course library. Obstacles can be browsed or viewed in the gallery the same way as cross country jumps. KM markers are calculated based on measured distance. When you add a distance to the obstacle the KM markers are adjusted. Cones courses can be cross country courses.
Step by Step
- Create a cross country course by recording in CrossCountry app, duplicating an existing course or using the draw tool
- Upload the course to the Toolkit if recording with CrossCountry app
- Open the Toolkit on your desktop, tablet or smartphone. As a beginner you will find desktop or laptop easier. On smartphone, rotate your screen to landscape
- Select the event and open the course you wish to make into a driving course
- In the Basic Tab change the Sport to Driving. Fences are converted automatically into obstacles and compulsory passages into compulsory turning flags. You will receive a warning that some cross country specific information may be lost. This is because the data stored for cross country and driving courses is different
- Tap the Edit icon
- Click on an obstacle to add name, private or public comments, builder instructions and distance within obstacle
- Add obstacle diagrams in the media tab
- After the first edit press Save to make sure you are authorised to make edits. (You may have been added as a collaborator with view only access)
- Continue editing. You can use the tools on the right to manipulate the track and obstacles
- If you are making a lot of changes it is a good idea to save your work regularly
- Tap Arrow icons to Undo/Redo last command
- Use the vertical slider to smooth the track display in the online viewer and CrossCountry app
- Save to finish
