Imaginative Cross Country Jumps of 2025
We love checking out courses from all over the world on CrossCountry app and we know that you do too. It's such fun to see what jumps are out there and get ideas for creating or decorating your own (large and small, whatever your budget). These jumps (in no particular order) from 60cm at Pony Club to 5 star caught our eye in 2025. There are tens of thousands more in our library to inspire you.
AFL Football
Australian League Football (also known as Aussie Rules) is an extremely popular sport in Australia. The last saturday in September every year is the Grand final. In 2025 it just happened to fall on XC day at Gladesdale Shirley Heights International Horse Trials. This inspired designer Jarryd Stanley and the sponsor Turfmate to build this magnificent replica of a football (officially called a Sherrin), as the final fence. Ride a Dinosaur?
Rebecca Farm is in the state of Montana, a world famous hotspot for dinosaur fossils including T Rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus. There are plenty more imaginative jumps on this course plus it's got expert audio insights from leading coach Bec Braitling. Built by Bert Wood, David Cathcart and team. View course
What a Toothbrush!
At the Equestrians Institute competition in Washington State, USA they must have had such fun creating this jump - complete with floss and a tooth. Designed by Adri Doyal. Built by Adri Doyal & Greg Thompson. Penelope Leggott is a pediatric dentist. View course
Anyone for Cheese?
Organiser of the Vale of Aylesbury Hunt Pony Club Mini ODE, Rosalie Gregory explained the "Big Cheese" got a beautiful repaint in May. Look out for a wooden mouse to be added next year. View course
Lenocerous at Heritage Park
There is a touching backstory to this fence in loving memory of 'Lenny' (Long Legs Lenor), a beloved horse amongst the Mid-West Riding Club, who tragically passed away after an accident this summer. A beautiful tribute. View course
Le Lion Violin
The Mondial du Lion (also known as Le Lion d'Angers) World Young Horse Championships jumps are always works of art. Make sure you look at them all. Designed by Pierre Michelet. This year's course was sent in by rider Natasha Moody. View course

Le Pouget Heritage Plane Tree
We were impressed with the soft look and clever incorporation of natural materials. Designed and built by Pierre Le Goupil from free plane tree wood and cypress brush in the South of France. Pierre explains here exactly how he created this rustic, inexpensive masterpiece. View course
Chillington Hall Arrow "Prenez Haleine Tirez Fort"
"Take breath, pull strong" Is this instructing the horse or the archer? The phrase was reputedly uttered in the reign of Henry VIII by Sir John Giffard's son as his father (the owner of Chillington Hall) took aim at a panther that was about to pounce on a woman and child. Swans at Swan River
The Black Swan is the emblem of Western Australia and has a dramtic bright red beak. Their wingspan is between 1.6 and 2 metres (5.2 – 6.6 feet) and they pair for life. Designed by Sylvia Roberts and painted by a local family. View course
Finding Dory at the American Eventing Championships
Designed by Alessandra Allen-Shin. In her video course walk at Galway Downs, Bec Braitling says this is a notoriously spooky fence. "Beware the inviting run out". View course

Jorge Ugarte transformed a simple post and rail with dramatic pottery in Lima. View course
A Beaver and a Bull in Scone Palace
Pronounced Scoon, this is a brand new event in the highlands of Scotland. Beavers have recently been released as part of rewilding, and the Highland Cattle need no introducion. The Beaver is in Alec Lochore's 4*L course and the Bull is in the 4* S. Make sure you explore all the courses for more Scottish themes of Kilts, Bothies and the Stone of destiny (aka the Stone of Scone) used in the coronation of Charles III. View courses
